This baby girl’s first birthday cake smash and sunset beach session with her family at Sherwood Island was so much fun to photograph! Just one short year ago, Elina was in my studio in Westport for her newborn session and now, she’s ready to dive right into her cake. I’m not sure where the time went, but so glad we have been able to document her first year along the way.

Cake Smash Sessions for Collective Members

Cake smash sessions are complimentary for our 2022 Collective members and beyond! We do them right here in the studio. This is true whether your first birthday session is at the studio or outdoors. Having these adorable cake smash photos is so much fun and a great way to end the year together!

Oftentimes, families want to do an outdoor session for their baby’s first birthday. Having these studio cake smash photos allows us options to design a more cohesive gallery wall if using studio photos, which is exactly what this sweet girls Mama wanted!

Elina’s newborn session and sitter session were both in the studio, so having her cake smash session in the studio allowed us an opportunity to get that third studio photo for the gallery wall we were planning. As a family, they were also able to go to the beach and create really special memories celebrating Elina!

Scheduling for your cake smash depends on your session time and location. Sometimes we are able to do it on the same day, and other times we have you come into the studio separately for the cake smash. We’ll work with you individually to figure out what’s best for your little one.

This beautiful gallery now hangs in Elina’s nursery and is a perfect example of a gallery that was carefully planned out from the start. We do that for you! Now, as Elina grows up and Mom and Dad go in her nursery, they’ll be reminded of her first year. So special!
